BEVI - Bird's Eye View Instantly
overview
BEVI, also called Beverly Island / Bird’s Eye View Instantly, was a mapmaker program built in Unity for lightweight town / city map-making, with an emphasis on worldbuilding. it was developed capstone-style for CS 321 in fall 2021 during my time at George Mason University.
version control was done with the now functionally-defunct Unity Collaborate, whose deprecation has resulted in direct code credits being difficult-to-recover. however, a build remains on the repo and source-code is accessible.
Do-or-Diner
overview
Do-Or-Diner is a graphic adventure mystery game where players, as ghosts with amnesia, investigate their own deaths at the mysterious titular diner. the game features navigation, investigation, and dialogue mechanics. with the close of this project, we managed to complete a short demo. it was completed for CS 325 in Fall 2022 during my time at George Mason University.
movement and collision, investigation actions, and a custom RPG-style text system were implemented using C# and Unity. though only a small prototype was accomplished, the game includes approximately 231 lines of dialogue(!) and a variety of sound cues, as well as a difficult final puzzle that tells a story.
Fish Fear Me - Jam
the jam version of Fish Fear Me was the first project completed by 100 JECS, a team comprised of myself and three of my friends. it was developed in Unity in about three days for District June Jam 4.
the game has no goal but achieved certain design milestones, and also originated the endlessly classic character of Fishest Gup.
in the game, you play as Gup as he attempts to survive an endless onslaught by fishing up allies. this version can be found on itch.io. There is no publicly available version control for the project due to Unity nonsense.
Knifepoint - School
overview
the digital school version of the board game Knifepoint, aka “KP Pre-Alpha 0.9”, was a version of Knifepoint developed in Unity for CS 425 during my time at George Mason University.
due to Unity nonsense, I don’t have version control information on this project, but I have source files and the build presented to the class.
this build has a playable game with basic rules, characters with different abilities functional, multiple items, and frameworks for more. overall i remain impressed with what i was able to accomplish in the time i had.
Sizzle Reel
Sizzle Reel (starring Fishest Gup!) is a plane-themed dodging and management game developed with Godot for IGDA district jam 5. similar to Fish Fear Me, our initial goal was to make a game which focused on fishing and fighting. however, schedule limitations and ideas for nonviolent games spurred us to make something new, instead!
the game was themed around it being played “on” our take on an unspecified dual-screened game console. we modeled a landscape that the player constantly flies through, while fire rains from the sky that they need to dodge on the top screen, and simultaneously extinguish from the bottom screen.
